Who are we?
We are the first competition team at the UFSC - Joinville Campus dedicated to the research, analysis, and design of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). Founded in 2018 and officially recognized in 2019, we compete in national and international contests each year to promote technological innovation and academic progress.
What is AUV?
An Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is a robot or mechatronic system that can navigate underwater environments, such as a submarine, without the need for a human operator. These vehicles have limited autonomy and may undertake a variety of tasks, including exploration, research, and monitoring.
History
Since our founding in 2018, we have been successful at AUV competitions, pushing the frontiers of engineering and developing innovative approaches. Our team is passionate about technology and motivated to contribute to the development of underwater robotics.
In addition to the members, the team has three teachers involved in the project, such as the team coordinator Prof. Dr. Andrea Piga Carboni and collaborating professors Prof. Dr. Lucas Weihmann and Prof. Dr. Roberto Simoni.

- Develop national technologies in the field of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs);
- Promote excellence in extension projects, acting to become a national reference;
- Expand and practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom, aiming at the personal and professional development of the team members;

Other activities
Connection with other teams and companies: we are always in contact with other teams and exchanging experiences and reading a lot of material produced by them in previous years of the competition. In addition to trying to create links with companies that are willing to support the project, whether financially or with some product, equipment, we are always open to any partnership and contact.
